WHY YOU SHOULDN’T USE WORDPRESS

WordPress? What’s wrong with WordPress now? The same thing that’s been wrong with WordPress since the beginning– Thousands of useless files, installing hundreds more, (and for what?) just to make a website function. Do you know what it takes to make a 20 page website? About 40 files, depending on the content. If you don’t count photos and things like that, you can program a single page within a single file. You can even call content from other sites into your site with 2 lines of code. I have recently found this script that I’m using right now (I won’t tell you what it is, because you have to be a developer to even use this in the first place), and I will tell you that this script versus WordPress is a major difference.

The biggest difference between this script and WordPress is that I actually want to use this script, where, WordPress has always been a nightmare to a developer like me. What kind of developer is that? I am a minimalist developer, and I am looking for minimal code to maintain, and I don’t want to spend ages trying to design my site just because of a content management system that seems good at first glance, but in all actuality, really just bogs down my server. You’re not going to get an awesome site that you can be proud of out of a WordPress install, you’re going to get subpar quality coding and design, and that’s the way it’s always been for WordPress. The best a WordPress installed blog can do is take up lots of space and data (especially after installing plugins), and annoy you with incessant updates again and again and again and again etc etc etc etc until the flatulent cows come home.

You have absolutely no idea how much I truly dislike WordPress as a content management system, but then again, you must remember that I am an experienced developer (I’ve been doing this for over 20 years now). I do like the idea of WordPress, but that’s about as far as that relationship goes. I download the script, start uploading this nightmare to my server, and about halfway through the 1,400+ files uploading, I decide that this is a mistake and that I can do much better. So I start sifting through the search results until I find something that I am happy with and that I can actually see myself using. However, this has to be something that seems to be tailored for me. I don’t force myself to use something that doesn’t work for me.

What am I getting at here? Well, it’s not rocket science. All I am taking the time here today to tell you in this article in particular, is simply what an experienced coder and seasoned developer thinks about WordPress. Which is: IT SUCKS!!!! Haha, you might even disagree. And let’s say you do disagree. How do you argue your point with me? Well…. You don’t, cuz I ain’t listening, and I don’t care. My mind is made up about WordPress, just like it is with the Las Vegas Shooting, and you’re not gonna convince me otherwise, and this is not up for discussion. Thanks for reading, and have yourself a beautiful day.
